Surfers Paradise

24th, 25th & 26th - Today we packed up and departed the gorgeous Sunshine Coast to our next destination - Surfers Paradise. We really had a gr8 time on the Coast and would love to re-visit again (one day)......it was very relaxing up their and the hotel was really nice.

At the same time we where very excited to get down to surfers and have a look around. We did a little detour to Bray Park, Brisbane to visit our good friends Emily and Craig. They have a really nice house and live in a good street :) they love it. We spent most of the day their catching up with them and then got back on the road around 2ish.........which Em and Craig came with us, so it was nice to follow them down to surfers. They spent the weekend with us and showed us around a few place (outlets, harbour town etc) and our other friends house Hannah and Craig.

We had no plans in surfers just to relax and have a good time, doing nothing and thats how it was spend, but seemed busy just doing that.

The Big Pineapple & Ginger Factory

23/4/10

On Friday we got on the road early, around 9ish and started to head to the Big Pineapple and Ginger Factory. They where only about 30mins from our hotel, so nice and close. The drive was gr8, getting to see alot more towns, buildings and the sunshine coast.

Our first stop was the BIG PINEAPPLE, i have to admit, it wasn't that good :( we didn't bother to do a tour as it wasn't that cheap and didn't look that interesting, so we just got a few photos standing in front of the pineapple (well only about 2) lol and shopped in the shop.

After the Big Pineapple, we headed to the Ginger Factory which was only about another 15-20min drive up the road to a little town called Yandina, via Nambour. The Ginger Factory was EXCELLENT, so much fun for kids and adults. We went on a little underground river boat ride (x2) which has little characters and lots of dancing and heaps more (hard to describe) and you had to spot a ginger man everywhere scene they had, was wicked, we all loved it. We then hopped on the train and did a tour around the factory with a man explaining what everything was and how the factory worked, was really good and relaxing. They also had a few shops their, food court, icecream and the ginger shop.

one tired little boy who had another big day of adventures. Why charlie was sleeping we decided to take the coast road back, it was really beautiful looking at the beaches / waves and all the towns, Coolum, Maroochydore, Maloolaba, Alexandea Headlands.....a nice relaxing drive to finish off a gr8 day!

Pool Time...

Cont....22/4/10

After spending hours at the Zoo we decided to come back to the hotel and take a dip in this gorgeous pool and relax for a few hours. It was not heated, so took a little time to warm up and actually go under. Charlie tho, just loves water and got very excited to be getting in and going for lots of dips and dunks lol. His first time in a pool, went good........would have stayed their all day if he had his way, got too cold.

HOGS BREATH - After swimming we headed back to the room got changed and back into the car and cruised into Caloundra CBD for some tea......!! We drove along the esplanade and spotted Hogs Breath and thought we would eat their (its been years)....!! Didn't really get any photos, below is my (muff's) meal was AWESOME......very yummy, spider got the crap meal lol....!! We where only staying 5mins drive from caloundra, so close to all the shops etc!

Queensland 2010

Our family holiday finally came around after booking it 1year in advance lol, we where all so exicted and just couldn't wait to get their, sunny queensland. Well the day started off VERY BAD, we missed our flight due to accidents on the outlet, the traffic was backed-up heaps. We decided to go via taroona but that took as long, maybe even longer.....we kept looking at our watch and saying "are we going to make it" but missed check-in by 10mins. Their was no other flights that day and could only get on the same flight the next day (as thats what they told us), at this stage i (muff) was very upset and in alot of tears. I then searched the net and found another flight Jetstar had leaving later that day at 1:10pm, so i asked the ppl at the counter and apprantely we couldn't get on that flight as it was a different route to the gold coast to what we where on (very weird and stupid)...!! But after the lady talking to someone they allowed us to get on that flight YYYYAAAAHHHH all smiles round - we can finally fly out the day we where suppose to!!

melbourne airport - arriving around 3ish and now waiting for our flight to the Gold Coast which didn't leave till 6:40pm arriving at 9pm into Coolangatta.

charlie went up and down on this a few times why we where waiting, he loved it.

Finally Made it to Queensland and our first destination, Crowne Plaza @ Pelican Waters - Sunshine Coast after driving 3hrs in the dark, getting lost a few times but we made it at midnight and went straight to bed - very tired. Room was a Standard Queen, was nice!

AUSTRALIA ZOO - 22/4/2010! Today we went to the AUS Zoo, was lots to see, weather was nice but also rained now and then! Charlie was kind-of interested in the animals but not over excited to see them lol, was a fun day tho!
